How Many Vowels Are There In Russian? [Solved]
There are five vowel phonemes in Russian, /a/, /e/, /i/, /o/, and /u/. Unlike English, these phonemes are pure vowel sounds, rather than diphthongs. However, diphthongs do occur with the glide /j/, and may be formed from any of the five basic vowels.
