Refraction is used in the lenses for eye glasses, eye contacts, camera’s and telescopes. How much more light does a 3-m-diameter telescope collect than a 1-m-diameter telescope? 1 meter collects 1 PI and the 3 meter collects 9 PI therefore the 3 meter collects 9 times more light.
